Introduction to supervisor skills

This course is for those who are new to supervising debt advisers, or would like a refresher. The course promotes an opportunity for supervisors to explore key factors and to develop and maintain an effective supervision practice with debt advisers, with a focus on communication skills, motivational factors and stresses in the workplace.

By the end of the course, attendees will be able to apply the knowledge and practical skills, in line with their agency’s standards and national good practice guidelines, to developing and maintaining an effective supervision practice with debts advisers.

Individual certification

Accreditation against a particular module is confirmed via the satisfactory attendance and completion of all the courses within that module. Progress for e-learning and virtual courses are always captured on the Wiseradviser learning management system (LMS).

This then forms the individuals learning record which is always accessible and transferable if they are to move organisations. Certificates for each completed course are also available for learners to download from the Wiseradviser LMS.

What are the outcomes?

This course is accredited to supervision level only. Supervision activity will involve an adviser providing technical debt advice support to other advisers within and/or outside their own organisation. Line management alone does not constitute supervision, without the provision of technical debt advice support.
